A smooth and uneventful journey, after leaving behind a wonderful sunny day in Valencia. We arrived in Dublin with excitement and we couldn’t miss the obligatory photo. It’s been a long day. We’re tired now and we’re going to rest, since tomorrow we’ll start our full schedule of classes and activities.
Un viaje tranquilo y con apenas incidencias, después de dejar atrás un estupendo día de sol en Valencia. Hemos llegado a Dublín expectantes y no podía faltar la foto de rigor. Ha sido un día largo; ya cansados, nos vamos a descansar, pues mañana empezamos nuestro horario repleto de clases y actividades.
DAY 1 S1 > Better weather than expected today in Dublin. We started the morning early with a tour of the campus and ATC classes. We had lunch in the new canteen and as an afternoon activity we visited landmarks in the capital city of Dublin. This was followed by dinner and a Gameshow (quiz game with different groups) in the evening. At the end of the day we had supper and went to bed.
Mejor tiempo del esperado hoy en Dublín. Hemos empezado la mañana temprano con un tour por el campus y clases de ATC. Hemos comido en la cantina nueva y como actividad de la tarde hemos visitado lugares emblemáticos de la capital, Dublín. A continuación, la cena y, como actividad de la noche, Gameshow (juego de preguntas y respuestas con varios grupos). Para finalizar el día, tomamos el supper y a dormir.
DAY 1 S2 > A few showers, but generally a sunny day in Dublin today. We had an early morning start with speaking, listening, reading and writing classes. Lunchtime has arrived and our room is booked and ready at The Graduate restaurant, with ice cream for dessert included. For reasons beyond our control, this afternoon’s activity (sport with Passport’s personal trainer) has been changed to Friday (excursion to Dún Laoghaire). On Friday we will have the sports session and today, after returning from Dún Laoghaire, we all went home for dinner and many of us used the evening to rest, read or, some others started revising for the Cambridge exam.
Algún chaparrón, pero, en general, día soleado hoy en Dublín. Hemos empezado la mañana temprano con clases de speaking, listening, reading y writing. Ha llegado la hora de comer y nuestro salón ya estaba reservado y listo en el restaurante The Graduate, con helado de postre incluido. Por razones ajenas a nuestra voluntad, se ha cambiado la actividad de esta tarde (deporte con el entrenador personal de Passport) por la del viernes (excursión a Dún Laoghaire). El viernes tendremos la sesión deportiva y hoy, a la vuelta de Dún Laoghaire, todos a cenar a casa y muchos hemos aprovechado la tarde para descansar, leer o, algunos, empezar a repasar el examen de Cambridge.
DAY 3-S1 > A little breezy today in Dublin, but mostly sunny. After the routine of morning classes and lunchtime, we had our Cambridge sessions. The students have really made the most of the time and have even got some work done; it has been well worth it. After the hard work, we enjoyed a good dinner at the legendary Miami Café (EST1914), famous for its Fish and Chips. And after dinner, we met S2 students for a lovely evening of football in Bray. Then, everybody went back to the Residence after a long and busy day.
Algo de brisa hoy en Dublín, pero mayormente soleado. Tras la rutina de clases matinales y la hora de la comida, hemos tenido nuestras sesiones de Cambridge. La verdad es que los alumnos han aprovechado el tiempo y tienen ya trabajo adelantado; ha valido la pena. Tras el trabajo, hemos disfrutado de una buena cena en el legendario Miami Café (fundado en 1914), típico por sus Fish and Chips. Y después de la cena, hemos quedado con el grupo de S2 para disfrutar de una tarde de fútbol en Bray. Ahora ya todo el mundo de vuelta a la Residencia tras un largo y ajetreado día.
DAY 3-S2 > We could feel the breeze coming from the Irish Sea today, but the sun has been shining all day. We have got into a routine and today has been a day of work and study: morning classes in the morning, Cambridge sessions in the afternoon and individual Speaking sessions have also started. The students responded well and, after dinner at home, we all enjoyed an evening of football in Bray. Now it’s time to rest and recharge our batteries for the weekend.
Cierto aire proveniente del Mar de Irlanda durante la jornada de hoy, pero ha brillado el sol todo el día. Ya hemos entrado en rutina y hoy ha sido un día de trabajo y estudio: clases de la mañana, por un lado; sesiones de Cambridge por la tarde y también han empezado las sesiones individuales de Speaking. Los alumnos han respondido bien y, después de cenar en casa, todos hemos disfrutado de una tarde noche de fútbol en Bray. Ahora, a descansar y coger fuerzas para el fin de semana.
DAY 4-S1 > Somewhat cloudy day, but very calm weather in South Dublin. We started the day with a good breakfast, morning classes and some rest after lunch. Then we went to the Conversation Club in the afternoon and it was time to watch the big Spain vs Germany match, a lot of excitement and joy with the result. We had dinner and after that we all had a rest, because on Saturday and Sunday we are not gonna stop with excursions and trips.
Día algo nublado, pero tiempo muy tranquilo al sur de Dublín. Hemos empezado la jornada con un buen desayuno, las clases de la mañana y un breve descanso tras la comida. Después hemos asistido a la actividad de la tarde, que era Conversation Club y ha llegado la hora del gran partido España – Alemania, mucha ilusión y alegría con el resultado. Hemos tomado el supper y todos a descansar, pues el sábado y el domingo no vamos a parar con excursiones y salidas.
DAY 4-S2 > The occasional cloud, but fairly calm weather in South Dublin. Morning full of classes, speaking included, and all the work is clear to continue after the weekend. We didn’t miss our appointment at The Graduate and, after lunch, there was sport, including a football tournament (David, Mario, Joan, Patricio, Cristina and Claudia were the winning team). Although football is not the strong point of some of us, we had a good time, to be honest. And if that wasn’t enough, there was more football: we couldn’t miss the Spain vs Germany match, with absolute expectation and a lot of excitement about the result. Now it’s time to rest, as we have a weekend full of excursions and outings ahead of us.
Alguna que otra nube, pero tiempo bastante calmado al sur de Dublín. Mañana repleta de clases, speaking incluido, y todo el trabajo ha quedado claro para proseguir tras el fin de semana. No hemos fallado a nuestra cita en The Graduate y, después de la sobremesa, ha habido deporte, con campeonato de fútbol incluido (equipo ganador: David, Mario, Joan, Patricio, Cristina y Claudia). Aunque el fútbol no es el punto fuerte de algunos de nosotros, nos hemos divertido un rato, la verdad. Y, por si fuera poco, más fútbol: no podíamos perdernos el partido España – Alemania, expectación absoluta y mucha emoción con el resultado. Ahora a descansar, pues nos espera un fin de semana lleno de excursiones y salidas.
DAY 5-S1 > Lovely day in most parts of the country today. It was an early morning and off we went to Galway. Galway is a port city on the west coast of Ireland. It is a popular and folkloric city, full of medieval walls and emblematic monuments (particularly its cathedral, which we could visit today). We loved it. Then, back to the residence for dinner and we enjoyed our evening activity “EURO 2024”. Supper, bed and looking forward tomorrow’s excursion to Dublin City Centre.
Hoy ha hecho bastante buen día en la mayor parte del país. Hemos madrugado y nos hemos ido a Galway. Galway es una ciudad portuaria en la costa oeste de Irlanda. Ciudad muy popular y folclórica, repleta de murallas medievales y monumentos emblemáticos (destaca su catedral, que hemos tenido la suerte de visitar hoy). Nos ha encantado. Después, vuelta a la residencia para cenar y hemos disfrutado de la actividad de la noche «EURO 2024». Hemos comido algo antes de ir a dormir, y a esperar la excursión de mañana al centro de Dublín.
DAY 5-S2 > Nice day in Dublin today. It wasn’t that early for S2 students and we all headed off to Croke Park to see live All-Ireland Hurling Semi-Final Clare v Kilkenny. Croke Park is one of Europe’s largest stadiums with a capacity of 82,300, and it can host all kinds of events: sports, concerts… good atmosphere and an experience to remember. We even had the chance to take a picture with Marty Morrisey, a popular RTE’s sports presenter. Afterwards, we all went home to have dinner and relax before Sunday, another action-packed day.
Buen tiempo hoy en Dublín. Los estudiantes de S2 no han tenido que madrugar y todos nos hemos ido hacia Croke Park para ver en vivo la semifinal de All-Ireland Hurling (deporte nacional de Irlanda) entre Clare y Kilkenny. Croke Park es uno de los estadios más grandes de Europa, con capacidad para 82.300 espectadores, que alberga todo tipo de eventos: deportes, conciertos… buen ambiente y una experiencia para recordar. Algunos incluso hemos tenido la oportunidad de hacernos una foto con Marty Morrisey, un popular presentador deportivo de RTE (televisión pública irlandesa). Después, todos hemos vuelto a casa para cenar y relajarnos antes del domingo, otro día repleto de acción.
DAY 5-S1-S2 > Today has dawned a day with quite variable weather, a bit sunny, a bot cloudy, a few showers… and everybody (S1 and S2 students and teachers) went to Dublin City Centre. Once there, we followed the Passport cultural route:
After arriving from Dublin, the S1 students have still been encouraged to play either football or volleyball, whichever they prefer. It was a long day and we were all tired, so we had dinner and a rest before the week of study and work ahead of us.
El día de hoy ha amanecido con tiempo bastante variable; soleado, nublado, algún chaparrón, pero todos (alumnos y profesores de S1 y S2) nos hemos ido al centro de Dublín. Una vez allí, hemos seguido la ruta cultural de Passport:
Al llegar de Dublín, los alumnos de S1 aun se han animado a jugar a fútbol o a voleibol, cada uno lo que ha preferido. Hemos cenado y todos a descansar ante la semana de estudio y trabajo que tenemos por delante.
DAY 6-S1 > Nice day today around the Campus. We started the day with a good breakfast. This was followed by morning classes and our lunch break. Afterwards, we had Cambridge class with individual or paired Speaking sessions, as required for each part of the exam. We had dinner and as the evening activity we did a bit of Irish dancing and played games. Tomorrow will be another day full of activities and learning.
Buen día hoy en los alrededores del Campus. Hemos empezado la jornada con un buen desayuno. A continuación, las clases de la mañana y nuestro descanso para comer. Después, hemos tenido clase de Cambridge con sesiones de Speaking individuales o en parejas, según requiere cada una de las partes del examen. Hemos cenado y como actividad de la tarde noche tuvimos sesión de Irish Dancing y diversos juegos. Mañana será otro día lleno de actividades y aprendizaje.
DAY 6-S2 > Mostly sunny in and around the Dalkey area. We have started the weekly routine: classes in the morning, with a short break, and then off to The Graduate for lunch. Today was Lucas’ birthday and we celebrated it in the restaurant with birthday cake included. Afterwards, we had Cambridge classes: first two full exams, with the corresponding Speaking parts. Tomorrow will be another day full of homework, lessons and fun.
Mayormente soleado en la zona de Dalkey y alrededores. Hemos iniciado la rutina semanal: clases por la mañana, con un pequeño descanso, y todos hacia The Graduate para comer. Hoy ha sido el cumpleaños de Lucas y lo hemos celebrado en el restaurante con tarta de cumpleaños incluida. Después, hemos tenido clases de Cambridge: dos primeros exámenes completos, con las correspondientes partes de Speaking. Mañana será otro día repleto de tareas, clases y diversión.
DAY 7-S1 > Today was dull and cloudy with spells of rain, but we don’t really mind the weather that much and keep going with our routine as scheduled. Breakfast, morning classes and lunch (lovely one, by the way, since today we were given pizza), break after lunch and off we went to the Jumping Zone, a trampoline and inflatables sports adventure park. We really enjoyed it there! After that, we had dinner (donuts for dessert) and we followed all the action from the first Euro 2024 semi-final between Spain and France in Munich.
Hoy ha sido un día gris y nublado, con intervalos de lluvia, pero, bueno, aquí le damos poca importancia al tiempo y seguimos con nuestra rutina según lo previsto. Desayuno, clases por la mañana y comida (estupenda, por cierto, ya que hoy nos han dado pizza); descanso después de comer y nos hemos ido al Jumping Zone, un parque con diferentes zonas de aventuras deportivas, camas elásticas e hinchables. ¡Hemos disfrutado mucho! Después de cenar (donuts de postre) no nos podíamos perder toda la emoción de la primera semifinal de la Eurocopa 2024 entre España y Francia en Múnich.
DAY 7-S2 > Today has been cloudy and wet with outbreaks of rain or drizzle. We had class all morning and, after lunch in The Graduate, we visited the National Museum of Ireland. It is Ireland’s leading museum institution, with a strong emphasis on national and some international archaeology, Irish history; Irish art, culture, and natural history. Students were home by 18.00, they had dinner and some students stayed in; others wanted to watch the Euro 2024 football match in The Graduate while a few preferred to go to the cinema in Dun Laoghaire. In any case, we ended up exhausted and looking forward to rest to start a new day.
Hoy ha sido un día de bastantes nubes y humedad, con alguna llovizna en Dublín. Hemos tenido clase toda la mañana y, después de comer en The Graduate, hemos visitado el Museo Nacional de Irlanda. Se trata de la principal institución museística del país, que apuesta por la arqueología nacional e internacional, la historia natural; el arte, la cultura y la historia de Irlanda. Después, todos hemos ido a casa a cenar. Algunos nos hemos quedado ya en casa; otros hemos querido ver el partido de fútbol de la Eurocopa 2024 en The Graduate, y los hay que han preferido ir al cine en Dun Laoghaire. En cualquier caso, todos terminamos agotados y con ganas de descansar para empezar un nuevo día.
DAY 8-S1 > A few showers broke out this morning, however, it was mostly dry with sunny spells as the day went on. Breakfast and classes in the morning, lunch and sports as afternoon activity. Some of us even took advantage of the day to do a bit of Cambridge homework. Dinner and dancing in the sessions as evening activity. Supper and bed since Cambridge sessions are awaiting us tomorrow.
Esta mañana ha caído algún chaparrón, pero finalmente se ha despejado el día. Desayuno y clases por la mañana, comida y deporte como actividad de la tarde. Algunos de nosotros incluso aprovechamos el día para hacer un poco de deberes de Cambridge. Cena y en la actividad de la noche hemos tenido sesión de «Dancing». Supper y a la cama, pues mañana nos esperan las sesiones de Cambridge.
DAY 8-S2 > A cloudy morning with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, although it became mainly dry in the evening. We had class in the morning and a good break after lunch in The Graduate. Then off we went to the Gym for our session with Passport personal trainer. We were really tired at that stage but it was worth it. Everybody went home for dinner and relax; some of us stayed in and watched television, read, did a bit of homework, etc. while others preferred to meet up for a while. Tomorrow will be another day full of classes, Cambridge awaits us again.
Mañana nublada con algo de llovizna, aunque se ha despejado por la tarde. Hemos tenido clase por la mañana, y la sobremesa después de comer en The Graduate. Después fuimos al gimnasio para nuestra sesión con el entrenador personal de Passport. Hemos terminado cansados, pero ha valido la pena. Todo el mundo hemos ido a casa a cenar y relajarnos; algunos ya nos hemos quedado en casa, para ver la televisión, leer o adelantar algo de deber, etc. mientras otros han preferido salir un rato. Mañana será otro día repleto de clases, Cambridge nos espera de nuevo.
DAY 9-S1 > Cloudy this morning, but mainly dry this evening with a few sunny spells. Breakfast and classes in the morning. After lunch, we had a break and then Cambridge classes and Speaking. Dinner and as evening activity ‘Arts & Crafts’. Friday is coming… supper and we share this amazing sunset to finish the day with in UCD.
Ha estado nublado esta mañana, pero soleado casi toda la tarde. Desayuno y clases por la mañana. Después de comer, descanso y clases de Cambridge y Speaking. Cena y como actividad nocturna ‘Arts & Crafts’. Mañana ya es viernes… hemos comido algo antes de ir a dormir y compartimos este increíble atardecer para terminar el día hoy en UCD.
DAY 9-S2 > It was cloudy this morning with patchy rain and drizzle, however, it became dry and clear as the day went on. We had class in the morning and then off we went for lunch to The Graduate. After lunch, we had our Cambridge classes and Speaking sessions. When classes were over we all headed off to Dublin City Centre for a bite to eat and went straight to the Gaiety Theatre to see Riverdance, a theatrical show that consists mainly of traditional Irish music and dance with a score composed by Bill Whelan. After the magnificent show we all went home to get ready for tomorrow. The beginning of another weekend is here.
Hoy ha amanecido nublado, con lluvia dispersa, pero se ha despejado a medida que avanzaba el día. Hemos tenido clase por la mañana y a continuación comida en The Graduate. Después de comer, hemos asistido con puntualidad a las clases de Cambridge y a las sesiones individuales de Speaking. Al terminar las clases nos hemos ido al centro de Dublín para cenar algo y ver Riverdance en el Gaiety Theatre. DAY 10-S1 > Mainly dry this evening with limited bright or sunny spells. Breakfast and classes in the morning as usual. After lunch, we all went to the Archaeological Museum. It is a branch of the National Museum of Ireland that specialises in Irish and other antiquities dating from the Stone Age to the Late Middle Ages. Then, we went to UCD for dinner, and we did sport as an evening activity. Supper and a good rest, since another weekend full of fun and excursions is around the corner.
Día mayormente soleado hoy en Dublín. Desayuno y clases por la mañana como de costumbre. Después de comer, hemos visitado el Museo Arqueológico. Este museo pertenece a la institución del Museo Nacional de Irlanda y está especializado en antigüedades nacionales y de otros países que datan desde la Edad de Piedra hasta la Baja Edad Media. Después, fuimos a UCD para cenar, y hemos tenido deporte como actividad de la noche. Cena y a descansar, ya que nos espera otro fin de semana lleno de excursiones y diversión.
DAY 10-S2 > Mainly dry today with limited bright or sunny spells. Ready for our morning classes, in which we had lots of speaking practice. After that we went for lunch to The Graduate. We had a good rest and off we went to do sports with our personal trainer. There we also played a mini football tournament. Again, these sports sessions were exhausting but worth it. We went home at dinner time and we can feel the Friday mood: a combination of study and fun is awaiting us another weekend.
Día con poca lluvia hoy en Dublín, y algunas horas de sol. Nos hemos levantado preparados para nuestras clases de la mañana, en las que hemos practicado mucho las partes del Speaking. Comida en The Graduate y, tras un descanso, sesión de deporte con nuestro entrenador personal, además de un torneo de fútbol. Un día más, hemos terminado rendidos, pero merece la pena. Ha llegado la hora de la cena y todos a casa, a cenar y descansar un rato, pues ya se nota que es viernes y nos espera un fin de semana repleto de excursiones, algo de estudio (para los que así lo quieran) y diversión.
DAY 11-S1 > Mostly dry with clear spells all day. After breakfast we went to the National Stud and Japanese Gardens, we loved feeding the horses and the lake in the beautiful gardens. Afterwards, we were given free chocolates, without a doubt one of the best moments of the day. Supper and rest till tomorrow for another day full of action.
Hemos disfrutado de un día bastante soleado hoy. Después de desayunar emprendimos la marcha hacia el National Stud y los Japanese Gardens, nos encantó dar de comer a los caballos y el lago rodeado de jardines preciosos. Después, nos regalaron bombones, sin duda uno de los momentos más buenos del día. Supper y descanso hasta mañana, antes de otro día lleno de acción.
DAY 11-S2 > Mainly dry with sunny spells. As S1 students did, after breakfast we went to Kildare town, to The National Stud and Japanese Gardens. The National Stud is a thoroughbred horse breeding facility in County Kildare that is currently is owned by the Irish Government. The Japanese gardens are traditional gardens whose designs are accompanied by Japanese aesthetics and philosophical ideas, which highlight the natural landscape. It was nice and peaceful all the way through. After that, we went home for dinner and tomorrow another full day excursion is awaiting us.
Prácticamente soleado todo el día. Al igual que nuestros compañeros de S1, después de desayunar nos hemos ido a Kildare, de visita al National Stud y a los Japanese Gardens. El National Stud es una instalación de cría de caballos pura sangre, en el condado de Kildare, que actualmente gestiona el Gobierno irlandés. Los Japanese Gardens son jardines tradicionales cuyos diseños de estética e ideas filosóficas japonesas, encajan a la perfección en el paisaje natural de la zona. Ha sido una visita guiada muy agradable. Después, hemos llegado a casa a cenar, y mañana nos espera otro día completo de excursión.
DAY 12-S1-S2 > Another nice and clear day here in Dublin today. We didn’t have to get up early and quietly made our way to Dun Laoghaire, the meeting point for S1 and S2, to start our excursion together, ‘The Chocolate Factory Experience’ in Coolock. There we enjoyed The Factory Tour, we immersed ourselves in a magical world of chocolate artistry and discovered the process of how all the different ingredients are combined together and transformed into luxury boxes of chocolates, chocolate bars, fudge, toffee and hot chocolate. After that, dinner at home or Residence and with plenty of excitement ahead of the EURO Cup Final 2024 final. Come on, Spain!
Otro buen día aquí en Dublín. No hemos tenido que madrugar y nos hemos ido poco a poco hacia Dun Laoghaire, punto de encuentro de S1 y S2, para empezar nuestra excursión conjunta a The Chocolate Factory Experience en Coolock. A través de la visita guiada, nos hemos sumergido en el mundo mágico del arte chocolatero, y aprendido sobre cómo, tras un proceso cuidado de elaboración artesanal, diferentes ingredientes se transforman en lujosas cajas de bombones, tabletas de chocolate, dulce de azúcar, toffee y chocolate a la taza. Después, a cenar en casa o en la Residencia y mucha emoción ante la final de la Eurocopa 2024. ¡Vamos España!
DAY 13-S1-S2 > Mainly cloudy today in Dublin. Breakfast and classes in the morning. After lunch, we had a break and then Cambridge classes and Speaking sessions. After all the hard work we went to have dinner and rest before going to the cinema as our evening activity. Supper and rest since another busy day of activities and study is waiting for us tomorrow.
Mayormente nublado hoy en Dublín. Desayuno y clases por la mañana. Después de comer, descanso y a continuación clases de Cambridge y sesiones de Speaking. Tras haber trabajado mucho en clase, cena y descanso antes de ir al cine como actividad de la tarde noche. Algo de comer antes de dormir y a descansar, pues mañana nos espera otro día repleto de actividades y estudio.
DAY 13-S2 > Mainly cloudy this morning in Dublin. We had class in the morning and then off we went to The Graduate for lunch. In the afternoon, we had our Cambridge classes and Speaking sessions. When classes were over we all went home for dinner and relax for a while. In the evening some of us decided to hang out for a bit, while others preferred to stay in and rest before another day full of work and enjoyment.
El día ha amanecido nublado hoy en Dublín. Hemos tenido clase por la mañana y después hemos comido en The Graduate. Por la tarde, hemos tenido las clases de Cambridge y sesiones de Speaking. Una vez terminadas las clases, todos a casa a cenar y relajarnos un rato. Por la tarde noche, algunos han decidido salir un poco, mientras que otros prefirieron quedarse en casa y descansar antes de otro día lleno de trabajo y diversión.
DAY 14-S1 > Mostly dry all day in Dublin. We had breakfast and then we went to our morning classes. After the classes, our colleagues received their diplomas. We carried on with the day, playing football and enjoying the afternoon and the evening activity. It was another non-stop day, so we had a glass of milk and some biscuits before going to rest, thinking about tomorrow’s activities.
Prácticamente todo el día soleado hoy en Dublín. Después de las clases, nuestros compañeros han recibido sus correspondientes diplomas. Nosotros hemos seguido adelante con el día, jugando al futbol y disfrutando de la actividad de la tarde y de la tarde noche. Ha sido otro día de no parar, así que hemos tomado un vaso de leche y galletas antes de ir a descansar pensando ya en las actividades de mañana.
DAY 14-S2 > Sunny day in Dublin today. We had class all morning and, at the end of the day, our classmates received their diplomas. Afterwards, we all went to lunch in the restaurant to celebrate our dear Patricio’s birthday. After lunch, we left for Greystones, a small coastal town south of Dublin surrounded by rocks and beaches. Tired, back home for dinner and rest.
Día soleado hoy en Dublín. Hemos tenido clase toda la mañana y, al terminar, nuestros compañeros han recibido los diplomas. Después, nos hemos ido todos a comer al restaurante y celebrar el cumpleaños de nuestro querido Patricio. Tras la sobremesa, salimos hacia Greystones, una pequeña ciudad costera al sur de Dublín rodeada de rocas y playas. Ya cansados, de vuelta a casa a cenar y descansar.
DAY 15-S1 > Another sunny day in Dublin. We had breakfast and then we went to our classes in the morning. After the classes, we had lunch and rested for a while before going to our afternoon activity. Dinner, a bit of free time and we had sports as an evening activity. We really enjoyed it. Supper and bed, to have a good rest since tomorrow there is a day full of classes (Cambridge and Speaking sessions included).
Otro día soleado en Dublín. Desayunamos y luego fuimos a nuestras clases de la mañana. Tras las clases, llegó la hora de la comida y descansamos un rato antes de empezar la actividad de la tarde. Cena, un poco de tiempo libre y tuvimos deportes como actividad de la tarde noche, en la que hemos disfrutado un montón. Supper y a descansar, ya que mañana nos espera un día lleno de clases (Cambridge y Speaking incluidos).
DAY 15-S2 > Clear sky in Dublin again. Classes in the morning, as usual, in which we are making the most of our time. We went to The Graduate for lunch, it was enjoyable. After having a good after-lunch conversation, we all went off to do a bit of sport with Passport’s personal trainer. Today, apart from Gym Work we had Pilates and Meditation with a professional yoga instructor. It was worth it once more. Home for dinner and relax as tomorrow lots of classes Cambridge included9 is awaiting us.
Cielo despejado de nuevo en Dublín. Clases por la mañana, como de costumbre, en las que estamos aprovechando el tiempo al máximo. Hemos disfrutado de la comida en The Graduate. Después de una buena sobremesa, nos hemos ido todos a hacer un poco de deporte con el entrenador personal de Passport. Durante la sesión de hoy, además de Gym Work, hemos hecho Pilates y Meditación con una instructora de yoga profesional. Una vez más, ha valido la pena. Después, a casa a cenar y a descansar, pues mañana nos esperan muchas horas de clase (Cambridge incluido).
DAY 16-S1-S2 > Rather dull and damp today in Dublin. It’s been a full day for everyone over here, as we have not stopped attending classes and activities: morning classes, lunch and Cambridge sessions with the corresponding Speaking. Then, dinner at the legendary Miami Café (founded in 1914), famous for its Fish and Chips, and we all went bowling to finish the day off. We are exhausted after all that, so we have to rest to be clear for tomorrow’s classes.
Cielo cubierto hoy en Dublín. Ha sido un día completo, sin duda, entre tantas clases y actividades: clases por la mañana, comida y clases de Cambridge con las correspondientes sesiones de Speaking. Después, cena en el mítico Miami Café (fundado en 1914), famoso por sus Fish and Chips, y a la bolera para terminar el día. Ha sido agotador, así que toca descansar para estar despejados ante las clases de mañana.
DAY 17-S1 > Warm and humid today with a mix of cloud and bright or sunny spells. We had classes all morning and, after lunch, we went sightseeing in the city centre and visited DUBLINIA. It is a Museum in which we discovered how Ireland is influenced by the Viking and Medieval eras. Then, we had dinner and rested before the evening activity. We can tell it’s Friday and we are looking forward to the weekend which, as usual, is going to be full of excursions and fun.
Hoy ha amanecido un día nublado, pero se ha despejado por la tarde. Hemos asistido a clase toda la mañana y, después de comer, nos hemos ido de turismo al centro de la ciudad para visitar DUBLINIA. Se trata de un museo en el que descubrimos cómo Irlanda está influenciada por las épocas vikinga y medieval. Luego, a la Residencia a cenar y descansar un rato antes de la actividad de la tarde noche. Se nota que es viernes y tenemos ganas de fin de semana que, como siempre, va a estar repleto de excursiones y diversión.
DAY 17-S2 > Dry with sunny spells this evening. Another day of classes at Sallynoggin and master classes in Speaking. After the lessons we went to the restaurant and relaxed there for a while until it was time for our sports session with Passport’s personal trainer. We didn’t stop and we even had a football tournament which, by the way, the girls won. Then it was time to go home for dinner and rest, as the weekend is already here with many outings and fun.
Cielo cubierto por la mañana, pero ha mejorado por la tarde. Otro día de clases en Sallynoggin y sesiones magistrales de Speaking. Tras las clases, hemos ido a reponer fuerzas al restaurante, donde nos hemos relajado un rato hasta la hora de nuestra sesión de deporte con el entrenador personal de Passport, con torneo de fútbol incluido que, por cierto, las chicas han ganado. Después, a casa a cenar y descansar, pues el fin de semana ya está aquí con muchas salidas y diversión.
DAY 18-S1-S2 > Rainy morning, but it gradually cleared in the afternoon, so we had largely dry conditions and some sunny spells in the evening. It’s been a full day for everyone over here, as we have not stopped in our different destinations. On the one hand, S1 students went on an Excursion to Howth. Howth is a fishing village and small trading port from at least the 14th century, with a mix of golf courses, cliff and coastal paths. On the other hand, S2 group went to the City Centre, mainly in Grafton Street area. Running from St. Stephen’s Green to Trinity College, Grafton Street has been the centre of shopping in Ireland since Victorian times. It offers multiple and varied artistic manifestations in its streets, the latest national and international brands, vintage markets and a wide variety of places to eat where some of us had lunch. We all returned home for dinner, ready for another busy day tomorrow.
Esta mañana ha llovido, pero se ha ido despejado de manera que pasaban las horas. Ha sido un día completo para todos, no hemos parado allá donde hemos estado. Por un lado, los alumnos de S1 han ido de excursión a Howth. Howth es un pueblo pesquero con un pequeño puerto comercial que data de, al menos, el siglo XIV. Está rodeado de acantilados, rutas costeras y campos de golf. Los alumnos de S2 hemos ido al centro; en concreto, a la zona de Grafton Street y alrededores. Desde St. Stephen’s Green hasta el Trinity College, Grafton Street ha sido el centro comercial de Irlanda desde la época victoriana. Ofrece múltiples y variadas manifestaciones artísticas en sus calles, las últimas marcas nacionales e internacionales, mercadillos vintage y una gran variedad de sitios para comer en los que algunos hemos tomado algo. Todos de vuelta a casa para cenar, y preparados para otro ajetreado día mañana.
DAY 19-S1-S2 > Sunny spells today in Dublin. We didn’t have to get up early, so at around 12 noon we met up to start our touristic route through the privileged area of South Dublin ‘Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown’: Dalkey (with a rich medieval past, and currently home to many celebrities; there is always a certain posh air and safe feeling when walking through its spotless streets), Killiney (with stunning views and home to Bono, singer of the famous band U2), and Dun Laoghaire (with its popular Sunday market, where we had an ice cream). After all that, we went home or Residence for dinner and rest since we should take the most out of tomorrow, a full day of classes and Cambridge sessions.
Mayormente soleado hoy en Dublín. No teníamos que madrugar, así que sobre las 12 del mediodía hemos quedado para iniciar nuestra ruta turística por la privilegiada zona del Sur de Dublín “Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown”: Dalkey (tiene un rico pasado medieval, y actualmente es lugar de residencia de muchos famosos; siempre se respira cierto aire chic y de absoluta seguridad al pasear por sus calles impolutas); Killiney (con vistas impresionantes y residencia de Bono, cantante de la famosa banda de música U2); finalmente, Dun Laoghaire (popular por su mercadillo de los domingos, en el que hemos tomado un helado). Después, ya todos a casa o a la Residencia a cenar y descansar para aprovechar al máximo las clases y las sesiones de Cambridge de mañana.
DAY 20-S1-S2 > It was a nice Monday morning in South Dublin today and we were all set for our classes: morning classes, Cambridge sessions and Cambridge Speaking. After all day’s work, we were already looking forward to Passport party with the presentation of diplomas and the video of the best moments of our adventure in Ireland. It was so much fun!
Se ha levantado una buena mañana en Dublín hoy y estábamos preparados para las clases: clases matinales, sesiones de Cambridge y Cambridge Speaking. Después de todo el día de trabajo, ya teníamos ganas de que llegara la fiesta Passport con entrega de diplomas incluida y el vídeo de los mejores momentos de nuestra aventura en Irlanda. ¡Ha sido una noche genial!
